CrewVision is an online field service management solution that assigns field tasks to the members of multiple organizations responsible for snow removal in Canada. Space-O Technologies developed this software for the backend with Laravel. Later on, the front end of this software was moved to ReactJS for further development. 800-900 crew members utilize CrewVision in winter, while an average of 100+ users remain otherwise and grow daily. About CrewVision

About CrewVision

CrewVision is a platform tailored for property care service providers, especially during winter times for mowing snow-affected regions in Canada. Designed in May 2023, this field service management solution assigns tasks to workers allocated to mow specific snow-laden areas in Canada. Besides this, the workers can also spot the locations they need to shovel away, as required in the mobile app.

Client’s Requirements

The customer is a famous lawn-mowing company. They were looking for an online centralized dashboard to manage tasks assigned to different workers regarding snow mowing. Besides this, they also wanted to create software that could draw polygons to mark the areas to be mowed—giving better field visibility to the workers. The client also wanted their software to provide aerial images similar to Google Maps.

Solution We Developed

Our development team utilized the following technologies to build this software from scratch:

  • The back end was made with Laravel, while the front end of the software was made with ReactJS.
  • We used native development frameworks: SwiftUI for iOS and Jetpack Compose for Android applications.
  • We used ChatGPT and Codium for programming automation and effective code enhancement.
  • We used MySQL as a DBMS for real-time storage and managing workers’ activity data, such as work durations, break times, and location data.
  • Our team leveraged Google Maps API for tile replacement and admins to define task zones.
  • Furthermore, we utilized Agile methodologies Scrum and Kanban to manage the development lifecycle, using JIRA as the project management platform.
